Seven case studies in different African countries were identified as representative of the Slow Food approach, and they have been twinned with the partner cities.
Within the 4Cities4Dev project, Riga City Council City Development Department in cooperation with Slow Food Riga, as a part of the Riga City festival is organizing the „Street of the Taste Masters". At the "Street of the Taste Masters" local farmers and some of the best restaurants in Riga will be presenting to the inhabitants and guests of Riga city the local, healthy and tasty food taking into consideration the rule "Eat less but better". The videos about Pokot Ash Yoghurt and Harenna Forest Wild Coffee will be presented at the event at the 4Cities4Dev project and Slow Food Riga tent. Lectures will take place in the project's tent, informing the visitors about the importance of decentralized cooperation and other project targets. To raise the interest about the food communities, the food masterpieces prepared with Vanilla from Madagascar, coffee from Ethiopia and couscous from Senegal will be presented to the Festival visitors. Travelling Exhibition in Riga August 16/September 6.
As a part of the 4Cities4Dev project, the Travelling Exhibition will be showcased at the Riga Congress Hall. Children, students and teachers will be involved in the activities of the Travelling Exhibition. The cooperation between the schools, Project Team of the Riga City Development Department and Slow Food Riga that started with the information campaign at schools in Riga at May 2012 will be continued. The delegations from city of Tours and Slow Food International will take a part and share their experience during the "Street of the Taste Masters" festival and the Travelling Exhibition opening ceremony on 16th of August. http://www.rigassvetki.lv/2012/festival/event/lv/478
