The first 4Cities4Dev workshop has just come to a close. It was organized by the City of Turin, the project leader, and inaugurated jointly by the mayor of Turin, Piero Fassino, and Slow Food's president, Carlo Petrini.
Delegates from partner cities Bilbao and Riga also participated in the workshop, which was focused on the relationship between food and the city in all its various aspects, from school cafeterias to soup kitchens to urban food gardens.
Just before the workshop, the 4Cities4Dev Steering Committee met for the first time, giving the project partners a chance to assess how the project was progressing.
The next meeting will be on November 18 during Euro Gusto in Tours, one of the project's four main events.
The first of the four Living Food Communities films will be presented at Euro Gusto, and then made available on the website. The first film looks at the Pokot community in Kenya, while the second film is currently being shot in Ethiopia with the Harenna Forest Wild Coffee Presidium.
